about ONLINE teaching

My approach to online teaching

Online guitar lessons shouldn't be a flat experience.

My online teaching setup uses a multi-camera system so that students always see the most helpful views and angles.

CAMERA 1:  The central view. A direct view of the entire playing posture and position.
CAMERA 2:  A closer view of the right hand to accentuate the details of proper plucking techniques.
CAMERA 3:  A closer view of the left hand to accentuate the details of proper fingering technique.
CAMERA 4:  The sheet music view. Where I make notes and insert fingerings specific to the lesson and student.

Emphasis is placed on developing a consistent learning setup in early lessons with each student. It is important that each student feels personally invested in his or her learning experience.

Multiple camera angles allow for closer attention to detail than is always possible during in-person lessons.

Musicians care about sound. I care about sound A LOT. My remote set-up includes careful microphone placement to ensure that students hear the best I have to offer.

Well organized lessons and carefully structured, individual learning plans are the keys to efficient musical growth. Historical pedagogy mixed with a modern problem-solving approach.
